Sarawak Science Centre Interactive Experience (SSCiEX) is Sarawak's first immersive science centre and a new landmark for STEM education and public engagement in the region. Officially launched on July 29, 2026, the five-storey centre features 22 thematic galleries, more than 400 hands-on exhibits, specialised laboratories and Maker Spaces, offering children, families, and the wider community an immersive way to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
More than a place for viewing exhibits, SSCiEX is designed to make science interactive, experiential, and accessible. To support delivering scientific principles through immersive, high-impact demonstrations, itc tailored a display solution comprising indoor and outdoor LED screens for the centre.
Installed on the building facade, itc K8.0 Pro Series P8 outdoor LED display, covering approximately 116.122 m², adopts a parallelogram-shaped design, echoing the architectural lines of the building while creating a striking and contemporary visual feature.
Built for permanent outdoor use, it combines high performance, strong environmental resistance, efficient heat dissipation, and a slim all-aluminum structure. Its waterproof and dustproof design enables reliable operation in outdoor environments. The display also supports a wide viewing angle and high-brightness visual presentation, making content easy to see in outdoor conditions.
With a large display area, dynamic content can be presented to visitors before they enter the centre, while also strengthening the visual identity of the centre.
To support the science show for an immersive science demonstration and experience environment, itc provided C Series P2 indoor LED screens for two multi-function halls, positioned prominently on the stage, working together with stage lighting and the live demonstration area to form a complete visual presentation environment.
With fine pixel pitch, seamless splicing, high refresh rate, high grayscale, wide viewing angles, and natural color reproduction, itc LED screen delivers detailed and smooth visual presentation. Its image enhancement technologies help maintain clear, fluid imagery when displaying science videos, while intelligent brightness control helps create a comfortable viewing experience under different lighting conditions.
As Sarawak Science Centre continues to develop as a hub for STEM education and public engagement, immersive digital technologies will play an increasingly important role in connecting visitors with science and innovation. Building on this project, itc will continue to provide tailored audiovisual solutions for science centres, educational institutions, and cultural venues, helping transform knowledge into engaging experiences and bring science closer to the public.
